[Bug 1000403] High priority thread causes crash during network activity

Sorry, I only have access to a PC in this case.

However, no sooner did I post this bug then I noticed that by reducing the AGP
aperture size from 64M to 4M in the BIOS, crashing apparently disappears (with 4
test clients, a crash occurs within 1 minute; now with AGP apet=4M 4 clients
have been running for about 2 hours).

I not clear what's really going on here, but I apparently have some sort of
memory conflict.  Also, I'm not clear what difference it should make if the high
priority thread is running or not.
