I agree that it is not supported in stock eCos - I simply spotted the problem
experimenting with C++ code trying to figure what is missing. So no, I don't
have any real use case, it has just confused me and maybe it'll confuse a few
people more.
As of now this is no more an issue for us - I was able to compile own libstdc++
with rigth headers, supporting the features that we need.
If the libstdc++ headers should never be used, I'd suggest to remove them from
the toolchain distribution.
