Re: eCOS and Linux applications

Hi Jérôme

eCos is not Linux and cannot run Linux applications. However, eCos provides
a POSIX compatibility layer which can help in porting code which was
originally intended to run on an operating system such as Linux. Details
at:

  http://ecos.sourceware.org/ecos/docs-latest/ref/posix-compatibility.html

Of course, there could be many reasons why porting a specific Linux
application to run on eCos is not straightforward.

I hope this answers your question. Please note that questions such as this
are best asked on the ecos-discuss mailing list rather than on ecos-devel.
There is a description of each of the public mailing lists at:

  http://ecos.sourceware.org/ecos/intouch.html
