Since we don't have automagic detection of GCC versions I don't know if
we should just insist on recent GCC or not - not everyone has a choice.
True, but individuals are at liberty to remove an offending flag if it
is not supported by their compiler. Since we've standardised on GCC
3.2.1 for the time being, I don't see any problem with introducing
-finline-limit if it provides some measure of forward compatibility.
