But it has to be an error msg, since the prompt "freezes"...
We can't type anything...
At least that's what I thought.
How do I use the "fis" command?
(what is it and how do I use it when the prompt is frozen?)

This is not error message. It means it is successful.
The checksum error or invalid key only means
you might need to initialize your flash using fis
command.
