- Subject: [ECOS] Linux synthetic: ld problems
Folks,
I am using CVS ecos, Linux Synthetic with stock RedHat-7.3, i.e., I'm
trying RedHat's gcc-2.96-110 and binutils-2.11.93...
(I don't think this is a gcc problem but an ld problem)
Have any of you noticed lots of ld errors:
/opt/binutils/2.12.1/bin/ld: warning: no memory region specified for
section `.rel.text'
/opt/binutils/2.12.1/bin/ld: warning: no memory region specified for
section `.rel.text.cyg_start'
/opt/binutils/2.12.1/bin/ld: warning: no memory region specified for
section `.rel.text.__static_initialization_and_destruction_0'
/opt/binutils/2.12.1/bin/ld: warning: no memory region specified for
section `.rel.text.serial_init'
/opt/binutils/2.12.1/bin/ld: warning: no memory region specified for
...tons and tons of this stuff. If I downlevel ld *only* to
binutils-2.11.2 it works again. I cannot downlevel gas as well, as
it can't assemble some files. BTW this problem occurs with ld
from RedHat 7.3 and binutils 2.12.2.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Richard
