arguments to main

Hi - I am developing under linux synthetic until my hardware is
available. I understand that the synthetic target does not make an
attempt to
preserve command line args, but is there a way to "hack" it in there?
Normally I would be able to read some hardware registers to set things
up properly - but since there is no hardware (and I really don't want to
hardcode things) using command line arguments would be really helpful.
Has anyone worked around this issue? Thanks
