Try to set up minicom so that you can type the filename for the
download, rather than selecting through the menu.  I've found that
I'm not fast enough that way - but I am when typing the name directly.

I've seen this with some cards.  It may actually go away once you have
RedBoot running directly from reset.

Just for my info - what version of RedBoot are you using (wanting to
install permanently)?  [where did you get it, what's the date, etc?]
I just want to make sure that the instructions you are following match
the image.
