Hi Kishore,
I'm also using the Atmel board, and have found that it's glitchy with
regard to connecting to gdb; I've gotten the "packet error" messages too,
but by hitting the board's reset button several times, and/or just hitting
return at the gdb prompt a few times, the "target remote" command
eventually succeeds. Not an elegant solution...
