The proprietary OS can only be affected by the GPL+exception license
if it incorporates code from RedBoot or eCos. If the proprietary OS is
completely independent then there are no licensing implications: the
resulting image is just a data file as far as RedBoot is concerned,
and the GPL does not impose any restrictions on the data that can be
manipulated.
