Hi
I had to disable the -mcpu=xscale flag in order to get ecos linked to libgcc.a
while compiling for a PXA target.
gcc 3.2.2 and binutils 2.12.1 configured 'by the book'
with the flag I get errors like this because of different floating point ABI in armv4 and armv5
/usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/arm-elf/3.2.2/../../../../arm-elf/bin/ld: ERROR: /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/arm-elf/3.2.2/libgcc.a(_clz.o) uses FPA instructions, whereas /home/jani/work/build/pxa/mpc/install/bin/redboot.elf uses VFP instructions
google showed people having similar problems on linux-arm etc
How did Xscale users on this list get this solved since I see the flag is on by default?
You need a multilib of libgcc for xscale. The prebuilt GNU tools from
eCosCentric (based on 3.2.1) do this. Or you can use this patch which is
what was used: http://sources.redhat.com/ecos/gcc-3.2.1-arm-multilib.patch
and rebuild yours.
