resolving error: dont know how to run

Hi,
I am new to eCos and have been trying to follow the documentation
word-by-word. I have been able to build the library and tests, but when I
use the command line in cygwin to run a test, I always get the error
message: "Don't know how to run. Type help target." I am trying to run the
tests on a synthetic target, ie, my PC. Could someoneplease tell me if I
should be doing something differently.
