- Subject: [ECOS] code protection
Hello,
Does anybody know something about modern 32-bit microcontrollers with FLASH program protection?
Ok, That's it if you like short stories... And that's the long one ;)
I have taken a look into AT91 documentation and... there is one thing that looks really weird to me.
Those processors doesn't have any code protection!
Just about anyone can copy all the code using JTAG or start from external EPROM / FLASH, map internal FLASH some and send outside all of it.
And that's not that there are microcontrollers without protection... In fact it's even hard to find modern microcontrollers which have such an option.
After some surfing I've found... only one. And it's produced by the firm I didn't even know so far: http://www.micronas.com/products/documentation/consumer/puc303xa/index.php
Why don't "they" support code protection? I really don't get it.
Does anybody know something about modern 32-bit microcontrollers with FLASH program protection?
thanks for your time,
Slawek Piotrowski
