Re: hal_clock_initialize() -- please help :(

Hi,

I am finding it very diffiicult to track this very simple issue... Please someone tell me if the HAL is responsible for starting the RTC timer by calling hal_clock_initialize()? Or does it get called from sys_timer() before the first DELAY_US() is called?

Thanks a lot,
-Mike.

Hi Gary,

This initialization is normally done in the platform init code
on platforms where it is required (to get the DELAY_US() to work).
For example, in hal/arm/edb7xxx/current/src/edb7xxx_misc.c.

Yea you are right, on the edb7xxx platform its done like that. On the ARM9 variants, the hal_hardware_init() in arm9_misc.c calls plf_hardware_init(). And you if you look at plf_hardware_init() in aaed2000_misc.c, it does not initialize the RTC. Since, I am working on an ARM920T, I took aaed2000 as my reference.

Let me know how it works on the ARM9_aaed2000 platform.

-Mike.
