EL/IX was an invention of Red Hat's. It never really cought on and was
never given the kind of support that would have made it a
success. When creating eCos 2.0 we decided to expunge all reference to
EL/IX. These days we prefer to emphasize compatibility with the POSIX
1003.13 PSE51 Minimal Realtime System Profile.
eCos's EL/IX support was really just a matter of adding the POSIX and
FILEIO packages. The current equivalent to the elix template is
probably the net template, or maybe the default template with POSIX
and FILEIO added.
