That page refers to eCos 1.3.1 which is ancient. The //C syntax that
is causing the problems has not been supported by cygwin for quite a
while. I suggest you go to http://ecos.sourceware.org/ and follow the
links to "Downloading and Installation" and/or "Anonymous CVS", to get
an up-to-date eCos install.
