Are your sure that your RH9 "/etc/dhcpd.conf" file has the

	allow bootp;

line (for fixed IP assignment) and the phrase:

	range dynamic-bootp <low-address> <high-address>

if you are using dynamic IP?

By default, RH doesn't enable BOOTP support.
