You need to do some more reading to get the big picture of how eCos is
plugged together. You need to understand the difference between
haldiag which redboot uses and the serial drivers. You should also
understand how redboot does its now networking rather than use the big
tcp/ip stack normal applications use.
Without doing the reading and more importently, understanding what you
are reading, you are only going to get into more trouble and ask more
questions....
