ANNOUNCEMENT: IOP RedBoot* v2.1 available online

ANNOUNCEMENT: IOP RedBoot* v2.1 available online

We have produced a new version of RedBoot for all Intel XScale(R) Core
I/O Processor(IOP) Customer Reference Boards(CRBs). This version
contains
ports to all of the following platforms:

 IQ80310
 IQ80315 (new)
 IQ31244
 EP80219 (new)
 IQ80321
 IQ80331 (new)
 IQ80332 (new)
 IQ80333 (new)

In addition to the new boards supported, numerous changes relevant to
IOPs have been included. New RedBoot commands for issuing PCI
Config/Memory/IO reads and writes are supported for diagnostic use.
Enhanced memory diagnostics for Memory subsystem troubleshooting have
also been included. Finally, some of the common code across the various
IOP Platforms has been factored out into a separate subdirectory to
avoid duplication.

Note that we have only validated RedBoot on these platforms. Full eCos
support has not been tested.

We are in the process of merging with the current CVS sources. We
will be cleaning up our changes and will be able to submit them for
consideration for inclusion in the public tree once the ownership
change to the FSF is complete. Please feel free to make any
recommendations that will make these ports more acceptable.

The IOP RedBoot Version 2.1 is available at
