Thank you, Grant.
Do I must register our product to eCos community, or something else?
Nope. We are interested in what you are going with it, especially if
it is unusual, but there is no legal reason to tell us if you don't
want.
My boss just want to make sure of every legal stuff about eCos. :)
Just make sure you respect the GPL. Provide all the eCos sources to
your customer

"Here is your TV/STB/Toaster etc and CD containing the eCos sources" is
not a requirement of the GPL. You just need to let the customer know
somewhere in the accompanying documentation that their product contains
eCos and make the sources available to the customer if they request
them. This is why contributing back is a good thing because the sources
are then already publicly available ;-)
You also need to be aware that some components of eCos fall under
different licenses (e.g. TCPIP stack), so depending on your product and
configuration, you will also need to ensure you adhere to those licenses
and clauses as well.
But the answer to the big question asked mostly is you can be assured
the IP of your application will be protected. The exception clause
allows your application to remain closed source and yours alone.
