I finally have the time to look at this and we (the maintainers)
have decided that it makes sense to merge this code into the main

Before I do that, have you made any progress on providing any
documentation or at least a test/example that can be included?
Also, if you've made any changes to the code, you might want to
send me a new patch (send it directly to me).
