I've checked in this and the various other related patches.
I'm not really sure about the generic ADC tests. I normally find I
need to write board-specific tests to exercise the actual hardware
present. So I suspect they may not be very useful on real hardware.
However, combined with the synthetic driver they do provide
a way to check the continuing functionality of the general ADC code,
so are worth having.
