Interesting.  ~1.6 seconds initial ~1.8 - ~2.1 seconds subsequent.  I then
tried other directories and those than didn't contain symlinks were equal in
timing with initial and subsequent.  I have some directories that contain only
symlinks and the difference between initial and subsequent is roughly 2 to 1.

Nice.  It's obvious which are and which aren't Cygwin processes.  Now, if I
could only use the kill command on the Non-Cygwin process.
