If that's the case then I'm OK with removing it, but the Power 
maintainer should verify that behaviour and ACK the patch.

If you have to go out of your way to use -mno-new-mnemonics
in your CFLAGS to break the glibc build then that's your own
fault. If it works with gcc out-of-the-box then I'm happy.
