Sorry, I'm missing the actual problem here. What good would specifically
truncating input strings to PATH_MAX do? Are you sure that the linux
command line length limit is not another key factor here - and one over
which we have no control?
The systemtap translator errors reflect that you didn't supply a script file or
body to run.
