Bug ID: 23739
Summary: bpf embeddedcode should be permitted in non-guru mode
Product: systemtap
Version: unspecified
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: bpf
Assignee: systemtap at sourceware dot org
Reporter: me at serhei dot io
Target Milestone: ---
As described on the label: eBPF ostensibly is a safe bytecode, and dropping
down to embedded-code doesn't add any new capabilities that plain SystemTap
wouldn't support. Hence, embedded-code blocks in an eBPF script should not
require '-g'.
Hold off until after 4.0 as currently under-implementation embeddedcode syntax
is 'experimental' and users should be aware it might be redesigned in future.
